Cincinnati’s Table

This event was organized by The Welcome Project, Wave Pool, and Cincinnati Compass. It was held at Cincinnati State and data for the infographic was provided by The New American Economy. Chefs who had immigrated from Zimbabwe, Cameroon, and Belarus cooked specialties from their countries. It was a great night with two wonderful cooking demonstrations and celebrations of the food and Cincinnati’s immigrants. I was thrilled to be the featured artist for this dinner. The dinner was the completion of a year’s worth of Cincinnati’s Table events that were held monthly throughout Cincinnati.

The project consisted of drawing portraits of the chefs. I had the opportunity to talk with them in person and take photos and work from those photos to illustrate their portraits. The infographic will be used as a 2-page spread in a book, and was included as a poster at the event. My goal was to illustrate the concepts while having the graphics portray the information correctly and clearly. The scope of the design project included designing an icon and flier design, prompt cards to get people talking at the event, and internal and external supporting signage.
