The feature article American Dream Deferred in CityBeat, was about unattainable home ownership for black Cincinnatians. The article written by Nick Swartsell, discussed discriminitory bank practices, redlining, and the false American Dream. After reading the article I made (3) rough sketches for the editor and writer to review. After working with the client on feedback and revisions, I made a color version for use on that issue’s cover.
