ART NEWS

Open Studio this SATURDAY

Stop by to visit my first dedicated studio space outside of my home in many years. (Still blessed to be a part of the Visionaries + Voices community). Since moving into 2968 Jessamine St. in Camp Washington, I’ve been able to work LARGER and participate in MORE EXHIBITIONS! Thank you to my boyfriend, Ricky Nye for co-existing with my art projects in our home. On Saturday, Oct. 12 stop in between 12-4pm to make something out of paper mache — I will be providing a demo and all the supplies you need. Sunflower art and merch is available for sale in my studio. This artwork was developed for the Gorman Heritage Farm’s Sunflower Festival!

Center for Great Neighborhoods Triptych Mural

Painting 3/3 of Karen Boyhen's Triptych painting series.

I was recently assigned a triptych mural by The Center for Great Neighborhoods in Covington, KY. It is NOW installed on the Triptych Art Fence at Hellmann Creative Center at 321 W. MLK Boulevard, Covington, KY 41011. Cate Douglas at the center commissions new murals from local artists every 12 months. There are (2) sets of 3 panel murals — one for each side of the fence, and at the six month mark, they rotate the murals to street side and building side. L.D. Nehls created the other set of murals — which are absolutely beautiful — slow down or park your car at the Hellman Center soon to check them out!
