Aiken New Tech High School Agriculture Map

I collaborated with Alan Wight and Mr. Parker and his students to develop this illustrated map. The Agribusiness and Production Systems Program is for students Interested in working with animals and the food sciences. The program is offered through Cincinnati Public Schools at Aiken High School in North College Hill.

Project requirements:

• Show graphically all that the program offers

• Follow the lead of what is important to the students by looking at their worksheets and collaborating throughout the process.

• Develop a large set of icons to represent many different data points.

• Once map neared completion, I worked to get all necessary sponsor logos and final edits to ensure clients were happy with the deliverable.

The most joyful part for me was making visits to the farm in-person. We met with students and teachers working with the animals and tending to many other jobs. I took photos, made sketches, and got many questions answered which helped me with the task at hand. The project is part of a 3-map series that focuses on the community of College Hill in Cincinnati, OH.
